Happy 10 Years!

I’ll never forget pointing him out on the dance floor that night. I told my friend, “I want to meet HIM.” Very uncharacteristic of me, as I was always the shy one. Dan, of course, was not shy, and was dancing like a crazy man on the floor (think…Elaine Benes but a little crazier). Something about him just made me want to meet him, not to mention that he was really really cute. We waited outside for him to come out, and then I said, “I’m surprised you had the energy to walk out of there.” “Walk out, I could run,” he said, taking off full sprint across the parking lot, never to be seen again (or so I thought).

My friends and I were frequent bowlers. There used to be a young adult bowling night in Mesa that we would attend nearly every Wednesday. Not that we were very good-I think my top score was like 67, but it was fun and we enjoyed it, and it was only $3. Assigned to the lane next to us was a rowdy group of guys, throwing the ball down the lane and just having a wild time. One guy in particular caught my eye, who was very good with the “spare ball,” which he would shot put down the lane, usually resulting (miraculously) in a spare. He was chatting up one of my friends, though, so I figured he was into her. It wasn’t until he got up for one of his turns and said to ME, “I bet you I can get a strike.” “What do you want to bet?” “I’ll bet you a date.” I agreed without much hesitation. He threw the ball…and it landed in the gutter. I guess he didn’t want to go out with me after all, I joked with him. He said to give him another chance to get the spare. He did, and it wasn’t until our second date that we realized that we had met before, or he had run away from me before. Apparently, he had been telling his friends that story about the dance for months and kept saying, “I hope I meet that girl again.” He did, and the rest is history. :)

I love my husband so much and am glad to have spent these past TEN years being married to him! That’s a whole decade-crazy! Here’s to many many more decades! :)

I Love Technology…Always and Forever

A quick peek at baby #3 via video:

An attempted thumb-sucking:

And a yawn:

Nope, we don’t know what we’re having, but feel free to guess all you want :)

Lately, I’ve had a hankering to watch the Coen Brothers’ Raising Arizona, so I can’t stop talking like Ed and calling the baby “Junior.” But don’t worry, we won’t be using Nathan Junior or Ed Junior or Hi Junior!

(AND in case you were wondering, we Arizonans sadly do not have that accent) I can’t wait to meet this new little one in July!

Happy Happy Birthday to You from Me

I can’t believe it’s been two years since I had this little cutie pie! I remember always wondering if I would love my second baby as much as my first-because I loved Abbie SO much. Of course, Brooklyn came along and I love her just as much. She is bursting with personality and sillyness, and is such a joy. Our girls love each other so much, which is such a blessing-who could ask for anything more?
Without further adieu, here are some of the many faces of Brookie!

This is my favorite-it reminds me of how I smile :)

Brooklyn got a LOT of Yo Gabba Gabba toys for her birthday. I used to be baffled at the popularity of this show, but it’s grown on me. And Brooklyn is mesmerized by it, which I am thankful for when I need it…
Toodee is her favorite:

She also loves Boots the Monkey. Those of you who follow me on Twitter know how much I < 'sarcasm> LOVE < '/sarcasm> Dora. Of course, we oblige because she loves it.

Mid-shoot, Brooklyn saw the park, and couldn’t focus for the rest of the day. I liken it to the dogs on “Up” with squirrels.

Happy birthday my sweet little girl! I love you!

Born on the 4th of July?

Since Christmas is the season of giving, I decided to give you a secret tidbit of information, which is that the Earl family will be growing by one come July! The 4th of July to be exact! And while I will spare you a picture of my fat ever-growing belly, here is a photo with a depiction of how I feel right now, as taken in the State Fair mirror:

fat-1

I’m at the awkward-is she pregnant or just getting fat-stage at the moment, which stage is second only to the-did she have her baby or is it still in there-stage in awfulness. BUT we are feeling so blessed and grateful to add to our family. We have the best, most wonderful little girls we could ever hope for, and would love to add another girl or a boy to our family.

Here are some random tidbits of oh-so-interesting information:

1. I have been lucky to not have morning sickness, but not so lucky to have crazy night sickness instead. I crave bean and cheese burritos and chips and salsa ALL the time (thankfully, I live close to Mexico, and we have an abundance), and despise ketchup and syrup to no end. Also, any form of meat is fantastic, especially Texas Roadhouse ribs. So, if you need a gift idea for Christmas…I’m just sayin’…

2. If the baby is born on the 4th, we probably won’t name him/her after our founding fathers, although we do love our country. George Washington Earl just isn’t a good thing. We have names picked out, but they’re not set in stone yet, in case you have some ideas :)

3. We won’t be finding out what we’re having-we’ve actually NEVER found out with any of our kids! It’s fun and a great surprise in the hospital.

4. Both of our girls were born at least 2 weeks early. If the baby is born 2 weeks early, it will be born on my birthday, which is also Father’s Day this year, which would be awesome! Also, Dan hates to wait, so I hope that this little guy or girl follows the trend!

So there you have it! You can stop wondering if I’ve simply eaten a few too many holiday treats this season…well…I probably am guilty of that, too :)

Put a Little Love in Your Heart

Not just a song I love, but also an opportunity to give to someone in need. If you know someone who has had a particularly rough year this year that you would like to gift Christmas pictures to, post a comment up with YOUR OWN email address, and also EMAIL ME to let me know the name and email of those whom you would like to gift a session this year. Please let them know that you are entering them. I will draw a name at random on November 10th (noon) and contact both the winner and the person who nominated them. The random winner will get a free session and a disk of their images ($300 value). Together, we’ll help a family in need, and the world will be a better place. :)

And I’ll leave you with a quick picture that makes me smile:

A quick photo from my State Fair Sessions. You might remember Miss Maggie (in the middle) from last year. I am happy to report that she is doing much better, and was full of smiles, which makes me smile BIG smiles! :)

*Winner must live in the Phoenix area, or be visiting here before the end of the year!!!

And I Would Have Gotten Away With It…

…if it wasn’t for those kids and that dog!

Halloween is my favorite holiday, and these are my favorite costumes ever!

Abbie’s costume won the costume contest, thanks to my friend Misty and her sewing skills! You have to go original Daphne Blake, not the costume they sell in the stores!

Brooklyn hated her Scooby head, but liked acting like a dog for the party!
