Heart Day Has Arrived!

Gabriella’s sparkly new heart is ready for her, and she is off to have her transplant surgery! I know this is bittersweet news, as Gabriella receives her new heart, another child has lost his/her time here on earth. What a miraculous and amazing gift for one family to give another. I know that both families could use your prayers at this time!

To Julie and her Mother on Mother’s Day

I had the pleasure of photographing the wedding of Julie and Kent at the beautiful Boulders Resort in Scottsdale. The day was a whirlwind of emotion for these two, as Julie’s precious mother went into the hospital yesterday morning, and was unable to attend the wedding. Julie has to be one of the kindest people I’ve ever met, as she constantly worried about others throughout the day, despite her own inner hardships from the day. Kent, I realized, is Julie’s rock. There for her no matter what, and the perfect match for her, proven so strongly yesterday.

Today when I picked up my cell phone, I saw a text message from Julie thanking me and wishing me a Happy Mother’s Day. With all that was going on in her life at the moment, she still took the time to think of me. I have been thinking of their family since I heard the news, and I decided that I had a gift that I could give to them today. I wanted to at least give Julie’s mom a glimpse of her beautiful daughter and her beautiful wedding so that she could feel a part of what occurred, and I couldn’t think of a more appropriate time than today, Mother’s Day. I wish the family, and Julie’s mom especially, the best with everything going on in their lives at the moment.

So here is a glimpse of what went on-first, a few of the details:

The beautiful ceremony location (they were the very first to use this new spot!):

I love the look on Julie’s face right after Kent put her ring onr:

A quick shot of both sides of the family in attendance at the wedding:

A moment just prior to signing the marriage license:

The Boulders was gracious enough to cart us around from location to location! Rarely is there a venue who will do so much for you!

One of the highlights of the wedding was Julie dancing with one of her brothers to Wooly Bully-I was laughing SO hard-it was fantastic!

I know this is a but a small taste of the events and details-in fact! I have to send a VERY special thank you for the day to Jason and Anna Ball for all of their help. I could not have done it without you guys, and I can’t wait to see what awesome images you were able to get!

Being a mother is the most wonderful thing I have experienced, and I want to wish a Happy Mother’s Day to all of the mothers out there!

DJ Jazzy Jasper + Jen from the Block

Apparently I have 90′s hip hop on the brain tonight? I suppose it’s fitting when I graduated from high school in 1998. I am always excited when people I know from high school call me up to take their pictures! And I’m twice as excited when I get to meet their awesome families in the process! Jen and I go waaaaay back-probably even to middle school-I can’t remember that far because I’m getting old (almost 30, you know), and I have pregnant brain at the moment. We have recently reconnected via Facebook and our mutual love for Tobias Fünke and all things Arrested Development (may it rest in peace).

Without further adieu, I give you Jasper, the adorable, animated little bundle of awesomeness that Jen and Nathan procreated (I sure hope that is the right word). I must say his faux hawk even rivals that of my husband. (Speaking of my husband…we just recently figured out that Dan and Nathan went to high school together…in Simi Valley…how’s that for craziness?)

THE BEST FACE EVER.

THE BEST FACE EVER TIMES 3.

Naked time. In the Bumbo.

Such a cute family :)

Thanks, guys! It was good to see you!
