I just read that drowning is the number one cause of death for children under 5 in Arizona. That is shocking and upsetting. Last year, there were 26 fatalities in Arizona alone from drowning. If you follow me on Twitter, you may have seen me mention ISR in my updates. Both of my kids went through this program, and while expensive, at the ages of 2 1/2 and 1 respectively, Abbie and Brooklyn could swim. It is worth the money to know that if they fell in the water, they would have a good chance at survival. ISR teaches kids not only to swim in their suits, but also in their clothes, most notable winter clothes with shoes on. It is tremendous to witness the learning process for kids in this program. Here is Brooklyn, now 1 1/2, practicing her floating skills in our local pool.

Casia Fletcher - WOW…thanks for sharing!!!
Zak - That is just awesome Rachael! Both our kids love the water. Jack is super close to floating on his own. Pretty much a no brainer on getting lessons for your kids no matter the cost.
Becka @Studio222 - I learned to swim really young and as soon as Nate and I have kids, they will be in the water learning as well. Florida is similar to AZ in the fact that it’s just a no-brainer to have your kids trained in water safety as young as possible!
Rachael Earl - It is expensive, but peace of mind is worth every penny. I can’t imagine going through that with my kids. It would be devastating.
Danielle Earl - It is very expensive. But there’s not a parent out there who had a kid drown, that wouldn’t go back and pay it if they could. My niece had a hanging accident this year. Her hospital room was right next door to a little boy that drowned. He didn’t survive. Their neighbor was in the week after ~ also a drowning. Luckily they got to that child in time and they did survive. My kids will be going through this class before the year is up! Thank you for the referral. I thought they only had the classes in Arizona. They have them here, too!
Tiffany - wow… amazing stuff..
