Surgery for this Little Miss

Sweet little Bela that I photographed a few weeks ago is in for her big surgery today. It will be all day long, and very stressful on the family. Any prayers you can offer on behalf of this family would be greatly appreciated by them, I’m sure.

Mini Faux Hawk.

I’m a sucker for a good faux hawk, and this cute little guy has some adorable hair. During this shoot, it looked slightly Flock of Seagulls-ish (but in a GOOD way!) I love that you can see how much he LOVES his mommy and daddy!

We played with LOTS of toys!

#82-I’m Your Huckleberry.

Yes, I totally love Val Kilmer, and Tombstone is one of my favorite movies of all time, so it’s no wonder that visiting Tombstone was a goal on my list. I finally got that chance on the way home from Bisbee. Very cool to be in such a historical place. Very uncool that you have to pay out the arse to go see anything cool. Oh well, I loved this image once I finished making it look like it was from the Tombstone of old:

Growing Up.

I can’t believe how big my own kids are getting! Abbie will be 4 soon, and Brooklyn is already nearly 7 months! Time sure does fly! I’ve been taking tons of photos of them (it’s on my list), but here are just a few of my favorites from the past few weeks…
Abbie wants to be with Brooklyn every minute of the day. This is a common scene:

We taught Abbie how to make shadow puppets one night-she loved it!

Brooklyn is so smiley, but her biggest smiles come when our cats are around. Here she is with Shaggy, who always wants to lay by her.

I love my girls and look forward to seeing them grow up even more!

#85: Learn to BBQ

I haven’t posted too much off my list lately, but that doesn’t mean I haven’t been doing anything! (I’ve just been a lazy blogger!) I finally learned how to use Dan’s BBQ this summer. It’s not that it’s hard, just intimidating (he says the same thing about my camera…) To each his own, I suppose. Check out the these gorgeous steaks on the grill:

The tools of the trade, including the awesome Reveo Marinator. This thing does 2 days of marinating in 20 minutes!!!

And the finished product-delicious!

Official Cutest Kid Ever Award.

Meet Cole. Cole enjoys digging for food in the refrigerator, bubble baths, and cowboy hats.

How do I keep getting to take pictures of such cuties? Well, this little guy happens to be the son of one of my best friends, and I think he officially gets the cutest kid award. Don’t you agree???

Thank you, my friends, for having such adorable kids. You make my job easy!

Pure Sweetness

On the way to Bisbee, I had the pleasure of stopping in Tucson to photograph a friend’s little girl. I know I keep saying this, but she really has to be one of the sweetest little girls I’ve met. She took to me pretty quickly, holding my hand and showing me all around her neighborhood!

She’s so cute with this hat (and on Grandma’s lap)!

Sweet Bela Blue Eyes

I was so glad to have the opportunity photograph this little baby yesterday. Her name is Bela, and boy is she a special little girl. She was born with a rare heart condition called HLHS (Hypoplastic Left Heart Syndrome), and with Turners Syndrome. She has already been through so much at her tender young age of 5 months. Through it all though, she definitely lives up to her name, as she is a strikingly beautiful and special little baby. You can visit her family’s blog at www.tanandave.blogspot.com.

This is something special that Bela’s grandparents give to each grandchild. She’s #50!

I also did some of Bela’s brother, Benson. He’s such a cutie!

Then we took some of the whole family. For some reason, the black and whites from the day were my favorites all around!

Benson wanted to pick out his “sword.”

And one more of sweet little Bela.

Thank you guys for letting me capture these memories for you!
